Women's Cross Country Claims Multiple USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades

The Hope College women's cross country team competed among the nation's best on the course and in the classroom.

The Flying Dutch, who finished 26th at the NCAA Division III National Championships in November, recently received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors.

Five Hope runners also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition: senior Molly Durow, junior Grace Baldauff, sophomore Mary England, and freshmen Dylan Ballin and Taylor Mitchell.

USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors are awarded to programs that post a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifying criteria. The Flying Dutch recorded a 3.68 team grade-point average.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25% of their respective NCAA regional championship meet.

This is the second USTFCCCA All-Academic award for Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South), an elementary education major.

Baldauff (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania / Northgate), England (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central), Ballin (Brookville, Ohio / Brookville) and Mitchell (Otsego, Michigan / Otsego) each earned USTFCCCA
All-Academic honors for the first time.

Baldauff is a biology major. England majors in exercise science.
