The Hope College baseball team closed a six-day trip to Florida with a 16-3 loss in seven innings to The University of Mount Union (Ohio) on Monday.
The Flying Dutchmen (4-8) received run-scoring hits from left fielder
Connor Lavery (Aurora, Illinois / Metea Valley) in the third and right fielder
Brenden Collins (Kalamazoo, MIchigan / Hackett Catholic) in the sixth.

Thatcher Simon (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) scored Hope's final run in the seventh after an errant Mount Union pick-off attempt.
Mount Union (10-2) jumped to a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Hope next plays on Friday-Saturday, March 13-14, at a tournament hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
