Hope finishes with a 26-9 record

The nationally-ranked Hope College men's hockey team finished its inaugural American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 season with a second-round loss to the national tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.

The 14th-seeded Flying Dutchmen fell to third-seeded Niagara University, 8-0, on Friday and ended with a 26-9 record. Hope moved up this season after a successful run at the ACHA Division 3 level.

Niagara (26-5), scored three minutes into the game, received goals from six different skaters and outshot the Flying Dutchmen, 33-23.

Niagara then converted three times on the power play over the final two periods.

The single-elimination tournament runs through Tuesday, March 17.
