No. 14-Ranked Women’s Cross Country Leads MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll

The 14th-ranked Hope College women's cross country team earned the top spot in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, totaling 60 points and five first-place votes.

The Flying Dutch edged second-place Calvin University by two points. Calvin, which claimed three first-place votes, was followed by Trine University (51 points and one first-place vote), Kalamazoo College (45 points), Saint Mary's College (33), Alma College (29), Adrian College (23), Albion College (16), and The University of Olivet (9).

Led by head coach Mark Northuis '82, Hope returns three All-MIAA Second Team recipients, including all-region honorees Mary England of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Kalamazoo Central), a junior, and Dylan Ballin of Brookville, Ohio (Brookville). Sophomore Taylor Mitchell of Otsego, Michigan (Otsego) also earned All-MIAA Second Team accolades in 2025.

The Flying Dutch first race is on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. at The University of Olivet Comet Invitational at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.
