Men’s Golf Competes in Wisconsin at 36-Hole Como Crossings Intercollegiate

Junior Max Shulman and sophomore Eli Voisard completed the 36-hole, one-day Como Crossings Intercollegiate, hosted by Carthage College, at 11-over-par to lead the Hope College men's golf team on Wednesday in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Shulman (Ypsilanti, Michigan / Greenhills) carded a first-round 4-over-par 76 at Hawks View Golf Club, then a second-round 79.

Voisard (Tipp City, Ohio / Tipp City) fired a first-round 80 and a second-round 75, the Flying Dutch's low round of the day.

Shulman and Voisard tied for 22nd in the individual standings.

Hope placed seventh at the 12-team event, posting rounds of 308 and 311. Dubuque University (301-298) and Carthage (299-300) tied for first.

Junior Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) and sophomore Joey Blondia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) finished one stroke behind their teammates at 12-over.

Thomas recorded back-to-back 78s. Blondia went 76, then 80.

Sophomores Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) and Landon Bergsma (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) both checked in at 13-over. Vis shot 78 and 79, Bergsma 75 and 82.

Hope next tees off on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. at the first MIAA Jamboree, hosted by Trine University at Zollner Golf Course.
