Jackson Mindling joined teammate Seth Walters in the Hope College men's soccer 30-career-goal club on Thursday as the Flying Dutch bounced back with a 3-1 victory at Oberlin College in Ohio.
Mindling (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) scored his fifth goal of the season and 30th overall in the 70th minute to seal the outcome. It was the game's final goal.
Hope (6-1-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season — a 2-1 decision at 10th-ranked University of Lynchburg on Saturday.

David Blahnik said. "I was really happy with our team defending and work rate off the ball. I was extremely happy with our attack and ability to create a variety of scoring chances. We had loads of quality chances tonight, and I thought their keeper was great and made eight to 10 phenomenal saves."
Mindling buried a pass from sophomore defender Rory Cobb (Caledonia, Michigan / Caledonia) after the Flying Dutch maintained a one-goal lead for nearly 30 minutes. It was Cobb's first career point.
The Flying Dutch jumped to a 2-0 lead by scoring twice in less than four minutes during the first half.
Walters (St. Joseph, Michigan / St. Joseph) netted his seventh goal this season and 35th overall in the 29th minute.
In the 33rd minute, junior forward Ryker Corstange (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) scored his fourth goal of the season, set up by a Walters assist. Walters tops the Orange and Blue with 20 points on seven goals and two assists.
Oberlin (1-5-1) answered in the 41st minute with Bryce Van Duinen's first goal this season but did not muster much of an attack. Hope finished with a 42-3 edge in shots.
Senior keeper Copper Hutt (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) needed only to make one save.
