The Hope College women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory at Wittenberg University on Wednesday in Springfield, Ohio, striking for three first-half goals and not allowing a shot.
Powered by three different goal scorers, the Flying Dutch upped their overall record to 4-2-1.
Senior forward
Halle Barnard (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford, junior
Heidi Berkey (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven), and senior
Jenna Schreiber (Jenison, Michigan / Unity Christian) scored for the Orange and Blue.
Barnard, who leads Hope with nine points, snapped a scoreless tie in the 30th minute with her third goal of the season.
In the 41st minute, Berkey doubled the lead with her second goal this season.
Two minutes later, Schreiber capped the decisive rush by scoring for the first time this season.
The Flying Dutch outshot Wittenberg (2-4-1) by a 17-0 margin.
Senior goalie
Clara Feenstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) was credited with her third shutout this season and the 12th of her career.
Hope next plays at third-ranked University of Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. Central.
