Women’s Soccer Battles to a 1-1 Draw at Roanoke

Forward Avery Plummer scored her first collegiate goal to help the Hope College women's soccer team earn a 1-1 tie at Roanoke College on Saturday in Salem, Virginia.

In the first matchup between the two teams, Plummer struck in the 23rd minute to lift the Flying Dutch a 1-0 lead.

The freshman from Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City West) converted an assist from senior defender Bri Rose (Hudsonville, Michigan / Unity Christian). 

The assist gave Rose her second point of the weekend. Rose scored during Hope's 2-1 loss at Lynchburg University on Friday.

The Flying Dutch maintained the lead against their Old Dominion Athletic Conference until the 76th minute. Lauren Fischer delivered the equalizer with second goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Clara Feenstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) made a game-high five saves for Hope.
