The Flying Dutchmen moved to the new Van Andel Soccer Stadium during the 2009 season.
The first men's game, played under the lights on September 29, 2009, was a 1-0 Flying Dutchmen victory over MIAA opponent Albion. The game's lone goal was scored by junior Jeffrey Stusick, assisted by Shaun Groetsema, with 10:42 left in regulation. Sophomore goalkeeper Logan Neil received credit for the shutout. A crowd of 650 fans witnessed the game.
The first Hope/Calvin game at Van Andel Stadium was a classic 1-0 double-overtime win by the Flying Dutchmen. Freshman Jeff Ekdom scored in the 106th minute (assisted by Justin Bailey) before a stadium capacity crowd of 1,400 fans.
The largest crowd of the season (1,511) attended the dedication-day game on October 17, 2009. The Flying Dutchmen battled the Kalamazoo Hornets to a scoreless tie.
The Flying Dutchmen posted a 5-1-1 record in their inaugural season at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium. In six of those games, four ended in a 1-0 score (3-1), one at 1-1 and the other a 6-0 Hope win.
The Flying Dutchmen drew a record crowd of 2,192 to Van Andel Soccer Stadium on October 18, 2014 homecoming showdown against Calvin. The Knights won 2-0.
Hope won its third MIAA Tournament title with a 2-1 overtime victory against Trine University on April 24, 2021 at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Senior Ty Dalton scored the winning goal for the Flying Dutchmen 4 1/2 minutes into the first overtime.
