GET TO KNOW 

Why did you choose Hope College? Hope presented the best opportunity for me to grow not only as a player and student, but also as a man of God. Coach Stuursma clearly changing lives with the way he runs the program. 

What is your favorite pregame meal or snack? And why? Banana 

What is your favorite movie and why? Lion King because of Simba's comeback. Also there is no better duo than Timon and Pumba.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Your comfort zone will kill you

Who is the best Hope College professor? My favorite professor has been Dr. Jeff Tyler, head of the religion department. I am not one for lectures, but he has a way of engaging students and making learning fun.

 After I graduate I plan to… Teach high school students and coach some level of sports. Eventually I would like to get into academic administration.

 What gets you in the zone before a game? My pregame playlist. Going between old Drake, Pop Smoke and Jay Z.

 What is the best game you have been apart of? Being down at Trine and watching the boys beat down on them is the highlight so far.

Who is your athletic hero or inspiration? Kirk Cousins, that man is one of the best at his position and owns the mental side of the game, but more importantly has kept his Christian walk at the center of his life. Salute Mr. Cousins.

 How does your sport bring you joy? For me football is an anxiety free, stress free and worry free zone. It's a part of my day where nothing else matters.

 What is an experience you have done off? Bible studies second semester last year were awesome. Nothing better than sharing a common faith with my peers.

 One life lesson I have learned from myself. No one is more important than the team. The team. The team. The team.

Name a role model who has impacted your life. Troy Stahl aka my dad. He is such humble, hard working and fun man. I can only hope to be the kind of father/husband he is.

 List a favorite Bible verse and why. James 1:2-4 talks about choosing joy amidst life hardest times. I really cling to those words. It's easy to praise God on the peaks, but he should be praised in the Valley's as well.

 The thing in my life I am most proud of. That is still coming.
