KJ Landis joined the Hope College football coaching staff prior to the 2024 season as a safeties coach.
Landis previously served as defensive coordinator at Grandville High School the past four seasons.Â
The Bulldogs went 29-12 with four home Michigan High School Athletic Association Division I playoff wins during his tenure. The 2021 Grandville team recorded the third-highest point differential in school history. The 2020 Bulldogs had the fourth-highest point differential.
Landis served co-defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator at Grand Rapids West Catholic for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. West Catholic claimed an MHSAA Division 5 state title in 2017 while yielding only 13.8 points per game.
A 2008 Grandville High School graduate, Landis coached at Wyoming High School for four seasons He was defensive coordinator in 2016 and the junior varsity/freshmen coordinator from 2013 through 2015. In 2016, Wyoming recorded its most wins and fewest points per game allowed in school history.
Landis-coached teams have posted a 51-23 combined record during his high school career.
Landis and his wife, Ashton, live in Jenison with their three children, Trey, Natalie and Cameron.
