Craig Kopas has been as an assistant with Hope College Men's Basketball since the 2001-02 season. He is a 1999 graduate of Hope College.

While his role has shifted throughout the years, including two seasons as a junior varsity assistant, his primary responsibility now is aiding with Hope’s national recruiting efforts.

Hailing from Midland, Michigan, and Calvary Baptist Academy, Kopas has also coached at Hudsonville High School, as well as within numerous community leagues and camps at other NCAA Division I and II programs.

Kopas and his wife, Natasha (‘98) have one son and are members of Engedi Church in Holland. They are also founders of Freewater, an organization geared toward alleviating suffering in Zambia through local and international partnerships. Freewater works with these partners to train and develop orphaned youth, as well as to bring clean drinking water to communities in need.

Along with Hope grads Jeff Carlson '06 and Mike Aldrich '07, Kopas is a co-founder of Jump To It, an organization that conducts free basketball camps for underprivileged boys and girls, using basketball as a medium to foster the development of certain life skills and mentoring relationships.
