Alan Babbitt began working for Hope College in July 2013 as sports information director. He oversees publicity for Hope’s varsity and NCAA Division III athletic teams and the college's American Collegiate Hockey Association men's and women's teams. He manages the athletics website and social media accounts, while also handling outside media coverage for Hope Athletics.
He and Sports Information Manager Mackenzie McMahon were selected as the 2024-25 D3SIDA Region 4 Athletic Communicators of the Year.
Babbitt is the primary contact for Baseball, Men's Basketball, Football, Men's Golf, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Men's and Women's Track and Field, and ACHA Hockey.
Babbitt is a member of the College Sports Communicators, formerly CoSIDA. He serves as a national coordinator in CoSIDA's Academic All-America program for NCAA Division III women's volleyball and women's at-large teams and as the Academic All-America program liaison for D3SIDA. He also votes in the national poll for d3football.com.
A native of Mason, Michigan, Babbitt holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Grand Valley State University. He and his wife, Krista, have two daughters, Madeleine and
