Tyler Robinson served the Hope College men’s soccer program as an assistant coach from the 2018 to 2021. He specialized in goalkeeping training and coaching.
Robinson had been a varsity head coach at the high school level for a decade before joining the Flying Dutchmen.
A native of Lansing, Michigan, Robinson was a decorated goalkeeper at Michigan State University under head coach Joe Baum. In his senior year in 2002, he earned numerous honors for the Spartans, including First Team All-Big Ten, All-Great Lakes Region, Academic All-Big Ten, and Second Team Academic All-America.
In high school, Robinson claimed all-conference and all-district honors in soccer at Lansing Waverly. He was all-conference in basketball as well as all-state and All-American in lacrosse.
Robinson and his wife, Lauren, a 2006 Hope College graduate, both work in the Hamilton school district. He is a high school English language arts teacher and the varsity head girls soccer coach. He previously coached varsity boys soccer at Hamilton as well.
Lauren, a former Hope women’s soccer player under head coach Leigh Sears, is a high school counselor for the school district. The couple has two daughters, Brielle and Quinn.
