Women's Cross Country

Flying Dutch Fifth At 37-Team Invitational In Wisconsin

 

Senior Sheri McCormack of Holland (West Ottawa HS) posted a 10th-place finish to lead the Hope women's cross country team to a fifth-place effort at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.

The Flying Dutch totaled 180 points at the 37-team event. Calvin won with 71 points.

McCormack clocked a time of 21 minutes, 58 seconds.

Hope also received points from sophomore Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek HS) in 35th at 22:45, senior Camille Borst of Allendale (Allendale HS) in 37th at 22:47, freshman Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton Warrenvilel South HS) in 47th at 23:00 and sophomore Julia Stock of Spring Lake (Grand Haven HS) in 52nd at 23:03.

The Flying Dutch return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, when it hosts the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships at West Ottawa Golf Course.
