GAME NOTES
Hope is seeking its sixth Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic championship and second in three seasons. The Flying Dutchmen went 2-0 in 2011, beating Aquinas and Cornerstone. Hope also went unbeaten at the annual Thanksgiving holiday tournament in 2006, 2005, 2002 and 1997.
The Hope-Aquinas series dates back to 1982. The Flying Dutchmen lead by a 48-29
margin, including a 66-63 in last season's Hall of Fame tournament that saw Hope ride 15 points apiece from seniors Chase DeMaagd and Nate Snuggerud.
Hope and Cornerstone will meet for the 31st time in a rivalry that tipped off in 1987. Hope is 19-11 against the Golden Eagles, but dropped last year's matchup at the Hall of Fame Classic 87-80 despite Snuggerud's 19.
