The Hope women's cross country team moved up four spots in this week's United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Poll.
The Flying Dutch coached by Mark Northuis are now 18th in the country after Saturday's runner-up effort at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships at West Ottawa Golf Club.
Senior Sheri McCormack of Holland (West Ottawa HS) led Hope by finishing second in the 6K race. She become the sixth MIAA MVP from Hope.
Coach Mark Northuis' Flying Dutch are off until Saturday, Nov. 16, when they run in the Great Lakes regional at Calvin College and vie for berths to the national meet.
Hope is ranked third in the Great Lakes Region behind Calvin and Oberlin (Ohio). Calvin sits atop the regional rankings.
On the men's side, Hope is ranked seventh in the Great Lakes Region.
