Five Facts To Know About Flying Dutch Golf

Ellen Colenbrander (2000), Lisa Stover (1994) and Charlotte Park (2012) are among the many notable names who are part of the growing tradition of Hope College women's golf.

Here are five facts to know about the Flying Dutch.

Number of times both Lisa Stover ('94) and Ellen Colenbrander ('00) both were a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) medalist and NCAA Division III All-American. Stover finished fifth at the 1994 tournament of the National Golf Coaches Association ,while Colenbrander was an NCAA All-American twice, finishing seventh in 1998 and eighth in 2000. Colenbrander qualified for nationals four consecutive years. Stover and Colenbrander were also Academic All-Americans.

Number of Colenbrander sisters to represent Hope at nationals. Emily Colenbrander joined Ellen with the feat in 2003.

Highest ranking for the Flying Dutch in the Division III poll of Golf World magazine, accomplished during the 2009-10 season. Their first ranking came in 2008-09 when they placed 25th.

Number of All-American Scholars from the National Golf Coaches Association Hope has produced, including five during the 2011-12 season and four in 2010-2011. Emily Atsma, Megan Scholten, Charlotte Park, and Lauren Zandstra each receive the honor in both eyars.

Top 18-hole season average for a member of the Flying Dutch. Park averaged it during his sophomore season in the fall of 2011, joining Lacey Wicksall ('04) who recorded it during her freshman season in 2000 en route to being named the 2001 Division III national freshman of the year.
