Flying Dutch Compete At GVSU's Mike Lints Indoor Invitational

 

The Hope women's track & field team opened the 2014 season at Grand Valley State University's Mike Lints Indoor Invitational on Friday.

The 17-team Lints Open drew more 1,000 athletes from NCAA Division II and III schools as well as NAIA schools. The Flying Dutch did not score.

Hope finished 10th in the 4 by 400-meter relay as sophomore Jane Pearson of Lake City (Northern Michigan Christian HS), senior Caitlin Schwark of Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton-Warrenville HS), freshman Sierra Schultz of Grinnell, Iowa (Grinnell Community) and freshman Ariana Karaptian of Kalamazoo (Parchment HS) posted a time of 4 minutes, 19.41 seconds.

Schwark took 12th in the triple jump with leap of 31 feet, 5.75 inches.
