The Hope College men's basketball team gets its first Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Association rematch of the season on
Saturday when it travels to Angola, Ind., to play Trine
University.
Tipoff is 1 p.m. for the varsity game and 11 a.m. for the junior
varsity game.

Coach Matt Neil's Flying Dutchmen enter with an 11-6 overall
record and a 5-1 mark in MIAA play. They trail league-leading
Calvin College by one-half game, having played one fewer MIAA
game.
Trine is 11-7 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Hope defeated Trine 75-61 on Jan. 9 at DeVos Fieldhouse in the
MIAA opener for both teams.
Sophomore Alex Eidson of
Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) led three Flying Dutchmen in double
figures with 15 points. Senior center Nate
VanArendonk of Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) and sophomore guard
Ben
Gardner of Carmel, Ind. (Carmel HS) added 12 points apiece.
Trine received 18 points from forward Jared Holmquist and 11
from forward Tyler Good.

Good is ranked third in the MIAA in scoring at 16.3 points per
game, while teammate Will Dixon is eighth at 14.0 points per
game.
Eidson and Gardner are both averaging 13.1 points per game to
tie for 10th place.
Hope is scoring 73.6 points per game to tie for fourth-highest
in the MIAA. The Flying Dutchmen are ranked fifth in team defense,
allowing 71.7 points per game.
Trine is scoring 66.9 points per game, good for seventh in the
MIAA. The Thunder leads the MIAA in scoring defense, yielding 62.2
points per game.
