The Hope College women's golf team is poised to make it a clean sweep en route to a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship.
The Flying Dutch finished first at their their fifth 18-hole league event of the season in as many tries on Friday, shooting a team score of 318 at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
Hope extended its lead in the overall standings to 59 strokes heading into the final 18-hole round on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Bedford Valley.
Olivet came in second with a score of 329, while Saint Mary's and Trine tied for third at 349.
Freshman Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS), led the Flying Dutch by tying for first place with a 77.

Junior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), tied for fourth with an 80.
Senior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (South Christian HS), rounded out Hope's scoring with a seventh-place 82.
Freshman Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), tied for ninth with an 85.
Hope has a five-round total of 1,625. Olivet is 59 strokes back in second, while Saint Mary's is 88 strokes back in third and Trine is 115 back in fourth.
The top four teams advance to next spring's 54-hole NCAA Division III qualifier. The regular-season champion hosts the final 36-hole rounds, while the runner-up hosts the first round.
