Hope College golfer Megan Klintworth has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Golfer for the 2014 season.
The freshman from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS), also claimed MIAA Medalist honors by averaging 79.8 over 144 holes this fall and leading the Flying Dutch to their seventh league championship.
Klintworth headlined an All-MIAA First Team that featured six golfers, including two teammates: sophomore Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS), and junior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS).
Klintworth is the fourth Hope golfer to be claim MIAA MVP and medalist honors. She joins a group that includes Lacey Wicksall (2000), Ellen Colenbrander (1996, 98-99) and Lisa Stover (1991-93).
