Five unanswered goals powered the unbeaten Hope College ice hockey team to a 6-2 win against Calvin on Friday at Edge Ice Arena.

The Flying Dutchmen improved to 8-0 overall after shutting out Calvin (8-2) over the final 39 minutes, 11 seconds.

Senior Drew O'Brien of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), and freshman Garrett Gormley of Fenton, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS), each scored twice for Hope.

O'Brien's goal midway through the second period snapped a 2-2 tie.

Senior Jared Lehman of Carmel, Indiana (Watertown HS), and freshman Evan Fall of Royal Oak Michigan (Royal Oak HS), also had goals for the Flying Dutchmen.

Hope plays Calvin again at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Jolly Roger Ice Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
