Box Score Maura McAfee's second double-double of the season powered the Hope College women's basketball team to a 76-44 win against Pittsburgh-Bradford on Friday at the Hope Tipoff Tournament.
The junior forward from Midland, Michigan (Midland HS), collected a game-high 17 points and 13 rebounds.
McAfee totaled all but two of her rebounds in the first half alone as the Flying Dutch (2-0 overall) raced to a 40-19 halftime lead. She played just 20 minutes.
Hope will play Defiance, Ohio, in the 3 p.m. championship game on Saturday, Nov. 22, at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Fourteen different players played and scored for the Flying Dutch.
Senior guard Brittany Berry of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), finished with nine points. She had a team-high three of Hope's 11 3-pointers in 21 attempts (52.4 percent).
Defiance defeated Otterbein, Ohio, 72-62 in Friday's opener.
Center Kelsey Tietje topped Defiance (1-2) with a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds. The YellowJackets put three other players in double figures.
