The Hope College ice hockey team skated to a draw with Oakland University for the second game in a row on Saturday, tying 2-2 at Edge Ice Arena.
It was a matchup of the top two-ranked teams in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 North Region.
The Flying Dutchmen (8-1-2) overcame a 2-0 deficit against Oakland (13-0-2).
Freshman Garrett Gormley of Fenton, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS), scored with 3 minutes, 20 seconds remaining in the third quarter to force overtime.
Junior Zach Schaap of Holland, Michigan (Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS), pulled Hope within a goal with 3:47 remaining in the second period.
Goalie Eric Lipon of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), made 29 saves for the Flying Dutchmen. Lipon is pictured.
Hope returns to action on Friday, Nov. 14, when it hosts Michigan State at 7:30 p.m. at Edge Ice Arena.
