Senior Katherine Hauge and junior Julia Stock top the recipients of Hope College women's cross country's team awards for the 2014 season.
Stock, of Spring Lake, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), has been named the Flying Dutch's Most Valuable Runner.
Stock, pictured far right, posted Hope's top finishes at the NCAA Division III National and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. She also earned All-MIAA First Team honors.
Hauge, of Blaine Minnesota (Minnehah Academy), has been given the Dr. Vandervelde Award. The Vandervelde Award is named in honor of Dr. (Coach) Richard Vandervelde, a former professor of mathematics and assistant cross country coach at Hope College. It is awarded to student-athletes who most closely exhibition the servant characteristis that Vandervelde lived out: a positive and enthusiastic attitude, being a servant to others, and motivating others toward excellence.

Sophomore Emily Joosse of Chillicothe, Ohio (Zane Trace HS), was selected Hope's Most Improved Runner, while freshman Rachael Webb of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS), was picked the Flying Dutch's Best Newcomer.
