Brittany Berry enjoyed a record-setting day as the nationally ranked Hope College women's basketball team defeated Chicago 76-68 Saturday in the championship game of the Post Exam Jam.
The senior guard from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), scored a career-high 28 points that set a DeVos Fieldhouse record for points by a Hope player in a game.
Berry set a DeVos record with seven 3-pointers on a 7-of-13 shooting from 3-point range.
The tournament MVP tied the school record for 3-pointers in any game she already shared with Jordyn Boles (2004-twice), and Nicki Mannes (1994). Berry previously made seven 3s against Trine on Jan. 29.

Hope (7-1 overall) pushed its win streak to a season-high four games behind a career-high 16 points from senior forward Hannah Doell of Center Valley, Pennsylvania (Southern Lehigh HS), and 15 points from sophomore forward Mandy Traversa of Winfield, Illinois (Wheaton North HS).
Doell joined Berry on an all-tournament team that included Chicago's Claire Devaney and Morgan Donovan, St. Vincent's Taylor Mathers and Saint Mary's Krista Knapke.
Berry recorded a game-high five of Hope's 16 steals. It was her third consecutive game with at least four steals. The Flying Dutch forced 27 turnovers while committing only 12.
Berry went 7-of-10 from the foul line as Hope converted 74.1 percent of its free-throw attempts (20-27). Berry entered the game only 1-of-2 at the foul line.
Junior point guard Autumn Anderson of Wayland, Michigan (Wayland HS), chipped in nine points and a team-high four assists. She did not commit a turnover against Chicago, which fell to 3-5 on the season.
The Flying Dutch are ranked 12th by the USA Today Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll and 14th by d3hoops.com.
In the consolation game, St. Vincent defeated Saint Mary's 93-60.
