Box Score The Hope College men's basketball team will play for the championship of the Wooster (Ohio) Mose Hole/Kiwanis Tournament after defeating Spalding (Kentucky) 77-58 on Monday.
The Flying Dutchmen (6-3 overall) will play 14th-ranked Wooster on Tuesday at 7 p.m. EST.
Junior guard Ben Gardner of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), led three Hope players in double figures with 15 points bench as the Flying Dutchmen pushed their win streak to five games.
Freshman guard Dante Hawkins of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS), added 12 points off the bench.
Junior guard Alex Eidson of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), scored 10 points. It is ninth time this season he has reached double figures.
Eidson and junior center Brock Benson of Willowbrook, Illinois (Hinsdale South HS), both grabbed a team-high five rebounds. Benson also blocked four shots.
Hope recorded a season-high nine blocks — triple its previous high.
The Flying Dutchmen limited Spalding (5-4) to 36.5 percent field-goal shooting (23-of-63), including 18.2 percent from 3-point range (2-of-11).
Hope entered the game ranked 12th in NCAA Division III and tops in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 3-point field-goal defense at 25.1 percent.
The Flying Dutchmen shot 57.1 percent from the field (28-of-49) and 50.0 percent from 3-point range (9-of-18) to overcome a season-high 21 turnovers.
Wooster (7-2) defeated Wisconsin-LaCrosse 66-58 in Monday's second game.
