The Hope College women's track & field team recorded the top efforts in three events en route to a second-place finish at the Calvin College Indoor Invitational on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch totaled 113.66 points over the two-day, eight-team event.
Senior Sheri McCormack of Holland (West Ottawa HS) won the 1 mile run. She had a time of 5 minutes, 7.7 seconds.
The Flying Dutch posted the top time in the 4 by 800-meter relay. Junior Katie Afton of Kalamazoo (Portage Central HS), freshman Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton-Warrenville HS), senior Anna Leikert of Grand Rapids (West Catholic HS) and sophomore Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek HS) teamed for a time of 10:20.44.
Campbell also won the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:27.85.
Sophomore Jane Pearson of Lake City (Northern Michigan Christian HS) took second in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 2,890 points. Junior Emily Smith of Pueblo, Colo., was third with 2,708 points.
Pearson was runner-up in the 400 meters. She had a time of 1:01.38.
Hope's 4 by 400 relay finished second. Pearson, sophomore Aurelie McCarus of Lansing (Catholic Central HS), Smith and senior Caitlin Schwark of Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton-Warrenville HS), had a run of 4:07.86.
Senior Amelia Stanley of Grand Rapids (Northview HS) tied for second in the pole vault. She learned 9 feet, 6 ¼ inches.
Calvin won with a score of 203.5 points.
