The Hope College ice hockey team dropped its final pool game in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 Tournament on Thursday, losing to Pittsburgh-Johnstown 3-2 in Coral Springs, Fla.
The Flying Dutchmen (27-5-2-1 overall) already had clinched a berth in Friday's national semifinals. They will face a familiar foe in Davenport University. Hope is 0-2 against Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference champion Davenport this season.
Three of the four teams in the national semifinals are from Michigan. Adrian College's Gold team will play Robert Morris (Ill.) in the Friday's noon semifinal.
Sophomore goalie Alex Caradonna of Rochester Hills (Birmingham Brother Rice HS) stopped 24 of 27 shots for Hope against Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
