The Hope College women's track & field team won two events and finished second at the 26-team Emory (Ga.) Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta.
The Flying Dutch totaled 76 points over two days. They finished behind NCAA Division I Kennesaw State (Ga.), which had 175 points.
Hope senior Sheri McCormack of Holland (West Ottawa HS) placed first in the women's 1,500-meter seeded run. She posted a run of 4 minutes, 37.98 seconds.
McCormack also took third in the 800 with a time of 2:15.74. Sophomore Emma Ropski of Park Ridge, Ill. (Maine Township HS), was sixth in the event at 2:20.33.
Sophomore Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek HS) came in sixth place in the 1,500 with a time of 4:48.92.
Sophomore Julia Stock of Spring Lake (Grand Haven HS) won the women's seeded 5,000 meters. She had a time of 18:32.15.
Hope was third in the 4x400 relay. Sophomore Jane Pearson of Lake City (Northern Michigan Christian HS), sophomore Aurelie McCarus of Lansing (Catholic Central HS), Ropski and senior Caitlin Schwark of Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton-Warrenville HS), teamed for a run of 4:00.53.
Senior Lindsay Timmerman of Hamilton (Hamilton HS) finished fourth in the women's 5,000 Meters B-section. She had a time of 19:34.00.
