Flying Dutch Down Augsburg 17-11 In Van Andel Stadium opener

Three players scored four goals apiece as the Hope College women's lacrosse team beat Augsburg (Minn.) 17-11 on Thursday in the Flying Dutch's home opener.

Hope improved to 1-3 overall with the nonleague win at Van Andel Stadium that featured a season-high number of goals.

Junior midfielder Molly Greenfield of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown HS), senior attack Olivia Keinath of Blissfield (Blissfield HS) and senior midfielder Katie Sabourin of Flint (Powers Catholic HS) all scored four times to power the Flying Dutch.

Hope's top three scorers have combined for 27 goals this season, with Sabourin leading with 11 and Greenfield and Keinath having eight apiece.

The Flying Dutch took control of the match early by jumping to a 5-0 lead in the first 10 minutes, 5 seconds. Hope led 12-6 at halftime.

Senior midfielder Makenzie Bortell of Montague (Montague HS) collected a team-high three assists and one goal for the Flying Dutch. Bortell also topped Hope with nine groundballs.

Goalie Racquel Harrouk of Grosse Pointe Woods (Grosse Pointe North HS) recorded 11 saves for the Flying Dutch. 

Hope returns to action on Saturday, March 29, when it hosts Defiance College at Van Andel Stadium. It is a noon start.
