Freshman Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS) scored twice for the Hope College men's lacrosse team in an 8-6 loss at DePauw (Ind.) University on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

The Flying Dutchmen dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Senior Niko Pagkanlungan of Naples, Fla. (Barron Collier HS), added one goal and one assist for Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen also received goals from freshman Zach Weber of Ann Arbor (Pioneer HS), junior Peter Stuckey of Okemos (Okemos HS) and junior Nicklas Raycraft of Brighton (Detroit Catholic Central HS).

Raycraft leads Hope with three goals this season.

Freshman goalie Connor Miedema of Holland (Holland Christian HS) made nine saves for the Flying Dutchmen.
