Men's Lacrosse Maine-Bound for NCAA Division III Championships

Hope will face Ithaca College in the second round

The MIAA-champion Hope College men's lacrosse team is headed to the state of Maine for the fifth trip to the NCAA Division III Championships in program history.

The 18-0 Flying Dutchmen will face nationally-ranked Ithaca College (11-5) in the second round at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, on Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m.

The game follows the 4 p.m. second-round between Bates (11-5) and the Wednesday, May 6, winner between SUNY Cortland (14-5) and Western New England (13-6).

Hope will make its first postseason appearance since 2024. The Flying Dutchmen clinched the MIAA's automatic berth by defeating Calvin University, 15-9, in Saturday's championship game at Van Andel Stadium.

Unbeaten during the regular season for the first time in program history, Hope is on an 18-game winning streak — the longest in program history. The Flying Dutchmen have outscored opponents by a 297-111 margin.

The Flying Dutchmen feature nine All-MIAA recipients, including Defensive Most Valuable Player John Foster and Rookie of the Year Jackson Vasquez.

Foster, a senior defender, and Vasquez, a freshman midfielder, lead a group of six All-MIAA First Team honorees alongside goalie Jack Balmforth, attack Gibson Heethuis, long-stick midfielder Tyler Berens, attack Preston Hoexum, and midfielder Jackson Arnold. Midfielder Jack McNamara and defender Brendan O'Donnell have been named All-MIAA Second Team selections.
