The Hope College women's golf team pulled away from the field to win the Wisconsin-Whitewater Spring Fling on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch posted a team score of 677 after a Saturday round of 340. Hope finished 10 strokes ahead of Wisconsin-Whitewater at the eight-team tournament.
Sisters Montana and Morgan Leep led Hope by completing the 36-hole, two-day event with totals of 165. They tied for fifth place individually.
Morgan Leep, a sophomore from Hastings (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), topped the Flying Dutch Saturday with a 9-over-par 82.
Montana Leep, a junior from Hastings (South Christian HS), and senior Mary Bradley of Pierson (Tri County HS), both carded final-round 85s. Bradley finished seventh with a total of 169.
Freshman Dominique Molinaro of Port Huron (Northern HS) rounded out Hope's scoring with an 88 for a total of 178 that put her in a tie for 18th.
Junior Andrea Powell of Jenison (Hudsonville HS) shot a total of 192 for the Flying Dutch.
"We played great all weekend," Hope coach Greg Stafford said. "It was our best golf of the year. This is a springboard next year."
