Box Score 2 Two late rallies sent the Hope College baseball team to a 5-4 and 3-2 losses at Aquinas College on Tuesday in nonleague play.
The Flying Dutchmen received run-scoring singles from centerfielder Tim Bodine of Gurnee, Ill. (Warren Township HS), and first baseman Colton Curtiss of Zeeland (Zeeland East HS) during the nonleague doubleheader.
In the second game, the Flying Dutchmen tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning.
Centerfielder Jack Twitty of Rochester (Adam HS) came home following an Aquinas error on a grounder from designated hitter Luke Brower of Holland (Holland Christian HS). Curtiss, the next batter, followed with an RBI single to plate rightfielder Devin Schaefers.
Aquinas, however, answered in its half of the inning and produced a go-ahead RBI single by leftfielder Seth Holton.
In the first game, Bodine led Hope with two hits , two runs scored. He had a second-inning RBI hit and scored an unearned run during a two-run fifth.
Aquinas pulled ahead with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
