Hope College's Jane Pearson is in second place after four events of the women's heptathlon at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays.
The sophomore from Lake City (Northern Michigan Christian HS) totaled 2,758 points Thursday after competing in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and the 200 meters.
The three-day meet resumes on Friday, April 25.
Teammate Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek HS) led Hope by placing 15th in the 5,000 meters. She had a time of 17 minutes, 51.21 seconds.
