Hope College's Erin Herrmann recorded a winning time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Mousseau Classic hosted by Aquinas College at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids this weekend.
It was a nonscoring meet.
Herrmann, a freshman from Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS), led five Flying Dutch runners in the top six of the event with a run of 12 minutes, 6.07 seconds. Sophomore Hayley Schultz of Lancaster, Pa. (Manheim HS), took second in 12:16.81, while Freshman Mackenzie Govier of China, Mich. (Marine City HS), was third at 12:39.38.
Senior Catherine Calyore of Naples, Fla. (Barron Collier HS), finished second in the 400 meters at 59.03 seconds and third in the 200 meters at 25.74 seconds.
Junior Lindsay Timmerman of Hamilton (Hamilton HS) placed third in the 1,500 meters with a run of 5:10.95.
Hope's 4 by 400 relay finished third. Calyore, freshman Emma Ropski of Park Ridge, Ill. (Maine Township HS), junior Emily Smith of Pueblo, Colo. (Jackson Hole HS), and junior Katie Afton of Kalamazoo (Portage Central HS), teamed for a time of 4:05.57
Pole vaulter Kaylee Kish of Bay Village, Ohio (Bay HS), took third after clearing 9 feet-6 ¼ inches.
