Sheri McCormack led the Hope College women's track & field team at the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational on Saturday.
The senior from Holland (West Ottawa HS) took fourth in the 800 meters with a run of 2 minutes, 17.92 seconds and eighth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:38.74. It was a non-scoring meet.
Also, in the 800, freshman Emma Ropski of Park Ridge, Ill. (Maine Township HS) placed 11th at 2:23.72, while junior Emily Wrozek of Clarklake (Hanover Horton HS) was 13th at 2:26.41.
Freshman Mackenzie Govert of China, Mich. (Marine City HS), came in eighth in the 3,000 steeplechase by clocking a time of 12:38.93. Senior Anna Leikert of Grand Rapids (West Catholic HS) was 10th at 12:49.0.
In the 5,000 meters, sophomore Michelle Kerr of Dearborn (Divine Child HS) recorded a ninth-place effort of 18:08.06.
Sophomore Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek (Swartz Creek HS) took 11th at 18:11.57, while sophomore Emily Joosse of Chillicothe, Ohio (Zane Trace HS, finished 15th at 18:36.42 and sophomore Julia Stock of Spring Lake (Grand Haven HS) was 25th at 19:11.14.
