Hope College's Jane Pearson boosted her bid to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon on Wednesday while competing at the North Central College Dr. Gregory Invitational.

The sophomore from Lake City, Michigan (Northern Michigan Christian HS), totaled 4,530 points during the two-day event in Naperville, Illinois, to finish in first place.

Pearson's overall score elevated her to 15th in the NCAA Division III rankings.

Pearson recorded the top efforts at the Gregory Invitational in the shot put with a toss of 10.35 meters, the 200-meter dash in 26.37 seconds and the long jump at 5.29 meters.

Pearson was second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.92 and the 100 hurdles with a run of 15.94 seconds.
