Taryn King finished first in the high jump to lead the Hope College women's track & field team at the Aquinas Indoor Invitational on Friday in Grand Rapids.
King won a tiebreaker after clearing 4 feet, 11 ¾ inches.
The Flying Dutch totaled 26 points for fourth place in the four-team event. They trailed Aquinas (184), Spring Arbor (109) and Ferris State (100).
Hope's Jordyn Severt took second place after also clearing 4-11 ¾. Other teammates to place were Jane Pearson in fourth at 4-7 ¾ and Alison Rich in sixth at 4-7 ¾.
The Flying Dutch were runner-up in the 4 by 400-meter relay. Pearson. Rachel Satkiewicz, Rich and Carly Sommerville went 4 minutes, 14.99 seconds.
Rich took third in the long jump at 16-4 ¼. Pearson was sixth at 15-7.
Karina Winkelman placed third in the triple jump at 30-3 ½.
Sarah Murphy recorded a fifth-place pole vault of 9-0 14. Janelle Kirsch was sixth at 8-6 ¼, while Kaylee Kish was seventh at 8-0 ½.
Rich came in sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.66 seconds. Pearson was seventh at 9.97.
