Senior Brandon Flood of Mason, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS), recorded one goal and two assists to spark the unbeaten Hope College ice hockey team to a 5-0 win against Davenport on Friday at Edge Ice Arena.
The Flying Dutchmen extended their season-opening win streak to six games.
Hope jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period.
Flood assisted on the game's first goal. Freshman forward Riley Draper of Muskegon, Michigan (Reeths-Puffer HS), scored 6 minutes, 32 seconds into the first period.
Sophomore defenseman Brian Cain of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) and sophomore forward Evan Fall of Royal Oak, Michigan (Royal Oak HS), also scored in the first period.
Flood scored 3:05 into the third period.
The Flying Dutchmen conclude their weekend series against Davenport on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Patterson Ice Arena in Grand Rapids.
