The Hope College men's lacrosse team dropped its season opener at Kenyon (Ohio) 16-5 on Saturday.

Sophomore attacker Zach Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Saline HS), led the Flying Dutchmen with one goal and two assists.

Sophomore attacker Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), chipped in one goal and one assist for Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen also received goals from sophomore attacker Ty Miedema of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), freshman midfielder Grant Brogan of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), and freshman attacker Mike Odea of Naples, Florida (Barron Collier HS).

Freshman goalie Joey Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central HS), made eight saves in the first half, while freshman goalie Seth McCall of Hilliard, Ohio (Hilliard Davidson HS), recorded seven in the second half.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, March 7 at Dubuque (Iowa).
