The Hope College women's track & field team posted the top performance in three events en route to a runner-up finish at the Trine Indoor Invitational on Saturday in Angola, Indiana.
The Flying Dutch collected 146.5 points and placed 13 behind first-place Calvin in the seven-team event.
Junior Julia Stock of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS), won the 5,000 meters in 18 minute, 23.94 seconds.
Freshman Alison Rich of Haslett, Michigan (Haslett HS), took first in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.39 seconds.
Hope won the 4 by 400 relay. Junior Jane Pearson of Lake City, Michigan (Northern Michigan Christian HS), senior Katie Afton of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Portage Central HS), sophomore Emma Ropski of Park Ridge, Illinois (Maine Township HS), and freshman Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm HS), clocked a time of 4:05.94.
The Flying Dutchmen was runner-up in the 4,000 distance medley.
Freshmen Marianne Lohrstorfer of Indianapolis, Indiana (North Central HS), Rachael Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS), Kristen Godwin of Oxford, Michigan (Oxford HS), and Alexis Guttilla of St. Charles, Illinois (Westminster Christian HS), had a time of 13:30.70
Freshman Sarah Murphy of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS), tied for second in pole vault after clearing 2.75 meters.
Pearson was runner-up in the long jump at 5.00 meters.
Ropski placed third in 800 with run of 2:20.83.
Junior Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek, Michigan (Swartz Creek HS), came in third in the 1 mile run at 5:13.30.
Hope returns to action on March 13-14 at the Southern Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, as part of the team's annual spring break trip.
