The Flying Dutchmen lead the all-time series 98-91. Hope lost to Calvin 88-64 at DeVos Fieldhouse on January 19. Harrison Blackledge's 19 points topped the Flying Dutchmen in defeat. He was the only Hope player in double figures.

The Flying Dutchmen have a share of the MIAA lead for the first time this season. Hope is 6-2 in league play along with Calvin and Trine.
The Flying Dutchmen have not lost since the last time they played Calvin. Hope has put together a season-high, six-game win streak, including a 73-63 overtime victory against Trine last Saturday at DeVos Fieldhouse. Harrison Blackledge scored nine of his career-high 27 points during the five-minute overtime.
Entering tonight, Hope is No. 1 in the MIAA in scoring offense at 77.3 points per game after 19 games. Calvin is second at 75.5 points per game. The Flying Dutchmen had their second-lowest point total of the year in the first matchup against Calvin.
Hope faces the MIAA's fourth-ranked scoring defense tonight. The Knights are allowing 65.6 points per game, good for fourth in the MIAA. The Flying Dutchmen are sixth in scoring defense at 67.8 but still rank first in the league in scoring margin at plus-7.2.
The Flying Dutchmen ranked eighth out of 408 NCAA Division III teams in foul shooting at 78.0 percent. Wheaton (Illinois) and Trine lead the nation at 83.8 and 81.2 percent, respectively. Hope is outscoring opponents 361-257 at the free-throw line while attempting 107 more attempts with 463 foul shots.
Alex Eidson stands as the MIAA's top free-throw shooter with a 91.3 percent clip in 19 games (42-of-46). Calvin's Jordan Brink is second at 90 percent (63-of-70). Ben Gardner is fourth at 86.7 percent (72-of-83), while Harrison Blackledge is eighth at 81.7 percent (85-of-104).
Harrison Blackledge has scored in double figures in seven of eight MIAA games this season for the Flying Dutchmen. The sophomore from Canton, Ohio, is averaging a team-high 16.6 points per game, good for sixth among MIAA players in league games. Blackledge eclipsed the 20-point mark three times during that stretch: 27 against Trine on January 31 at DeVos Fieldhouse, 22 at Trine on January 7 and 20 at Olivet on January 17.
Harrison Blackledge is tied for third in field-goal percentage in MIAA games at 61.3 percent. He shares the spot with teammate Brock Benson, a junior from Willowbrook, Illinois. They trail only Kalamazoo's Josh Miller at 69.8 percent and Albion's Travell Oakes at 61.7 percent.
Brock Benson has Hope's second-highest scoring average in league games at 13.4 points per game. It ranks the junior from Willowbrook, Illinois, eighth among MIAA players. He has reached the 20-point mark twice. Both were home games: 21 against Albion on January 14 and 20 against Alma on January 21.
Brock Benson is tied for the MIAA lead in rebounding during league games. His average of 7.5 is matched only by Albion's Jordan Herron.
Ben Gardner shares 12th place among MIAA players with 12.1 points per game. The junior from Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), also is 10th in the MIAA in field-goal percentage by shooting 50.7 percent during league games. Gardner has reached the 20-point mark twice in league play this season: 21 at Olivet on January 17 and 20 at Kalamazoo on January 24.
Alex Eidson went scoreless in the first game this season against Calvin but has headed up since then. The junior from Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), is producing 10.8 points per league for 17th place among MIAA players. He has netted a season-high 22 points twice: January 17 at Olivet and January 24 at Kalamazoo.
Chad Carlson is second in the MIAA in assist-turnover ratio during league play with a ratio of plus-6.0. The sophomore from Rockford, Michigan, has 18 assists to three turnovers. He trails only Trine's Ben Syroka and his ratio of 6.67.
There have been 11 overtime games in the history of The Rivalry. Hope has won six of them, including the last one player - an 87-85 decision in 1998.
This is the 11th game for the Flying Dutchmen at Calvin's VanNoord Arena. Hope has won six of them. Calvin moved into the Van Noord Arena in time for the 2009 MIAA season.
The Flying Dutchmen won more games against Calvin in a decade seven out of nine times during The Rivalry. Hope has won 10 of 16 meetings against the Knights since 2010.
Hope has claimed 26 MIAA championships since Calvin became a MIAA member for the 1953-54 season, while the Knights have earned 30 in that time. Hope and Calvin have won outright or shared 54 of 58 MIAA titles since 1953-54. An Olivet title in 1972, an Alma/Albion co-title in 1978 and Albion outright crowns in 1979 and 2005 marking the only four seasons that Calvin or Hope didn't have at least a piece of the title.
Hope has earned a winning record against Calvin teams coach by Kevin Vande Streek. The Flying Dutchmen have 33 of 54 meetings with Vande Streek on the sidelines.
The Flying Dutchmen's next game is Saturday, February 7 at Albion. Tipoff is 3 p.m. Hope then concludes MIAA play with four games - three of which are at home. The lone road game is February 14 at Alma. The MIAA Tournament tips off on Thursday, February 26 with two semifinal games hosted by the highest two seeds.
