Hope College's Jane Pearson has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Field Athlete of the Week for events the week of March 9-14, the MIAA announced on Wednesday.

Pearson earned the award after throwing the javelin 108 feet at the Birmingham Southern Invitational — second-best in the MIAA this season.

The junior from Lake City, Michigan (McBain Northern Michigan Christian HS), also ran on Hope's winning 4x400-meter relay team at the meet.

It is the second time in Pearson's career she has been named MIAA Athlete of the Week.
