Molly Greenfield Sets Goalscoring Record, Hope Women's Lacrosse Wins

Box Score

Senior Molly Greenfield of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown HS), became the all-time leading goal scorer for the Hope College women's lacrosse team as the Flying Dutch defeated Kalamazoo 13-8 on Saturday at Van Andel Stadium.

Greenfield scored a season-high six times to help the Flying Dutch (4-5 overall) move into second place in the MIAA standings with a 3-1 league record.

Greenfield broke a tie with Katie Sabourin, who collected 74 goals between the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Greenfield has a team-high 28 goals this season.

Greenfield's six goals are the third-most number scored by a Hope player in a single game. Maddie Ferguson set the record of nine twice during the 2013 season.

Greenfield's career high is seven goals. She shares third-place  for that with three others players.

Greenfield tallied the first three goals of the second half as the Flying Dutch extended their halftime lead to 6-1. Hope pushed ahead as much as 10-1 before Kalamazoo (4-5, 2-1 MIAA) rallied.

Sophomore Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS), chipped in three goals for the Flying Dutch.

Freshman goalie Michaela Biegner of Hillsdale, Michigan (Hillsdale HS), made six saves for Hope.
