Hope College's Anna Garcia has been selected the MIAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for meet played through April 12.

The junior from Battle Creek, Michigan (Lakeview HS), posted a perfect 4-0 record for the week in leading the Flying Dutch to a pair of wins that gave them sole possession of first place in the MIAA.

Garcia posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles and an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles in a 9-0 win over Alma, then won her No. 2 doubles match 8-2 and scored the clinching point at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win that sealed Hope's 5-4 victory over Kalamazoo in a first-place showdown Saturday.

Garcia is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in her career.
