The Hope College women's track & field team won three events en route to finishing in first place at the Alma Invitational on Friday.
The Flying Dutch totaled 138 points to win the nine-team event. They finished 11 points ahead of runner-up Alma.
Junior Julia Stock of Norton Shores, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), and junior Casey Campbell of Swartz Creek, Michigan (Swartz Creek HS), went 1-2 in the 5,000 meters with runs of 17:54.01 and 18:10.01. Senior Lindsay Timmerman of Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton HS, was fourth in 19:10.96.
Junior Jane Pearson of Lake City, Michigan (Northern Michigan Christian HS), finished first in the 100-meter hurdles. She clocked a time of 16.1. Freshman Alison Rich of Haslett, Michigan (Haslett HS), was third in 16.0.
Hope swept the top three spots in 400 meter hurdles: Sophomore Sierra Schultz of Kellogg, Iowa (Grinnell Community HS), first at 1:07.85, Pearson runner-up at 1:09.27 and Rich third at 1:09.68.
Pearson took second in the javelin at 33.86 meters and third in the high jump with a leap of 1.52 meters.
Rich was third in the long jump with a leap of 4.80 and third in the javelin at 28.85.
Freshman Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm HS), took third in the 200 and 400 meters. She had a run of 200-meter run of 27.33 seconds and a 400-meter one of 1:00.54.
The Flying Dutch were second in the 4x400 relay. Schultz, Pearson, Satkiewicz and sophomore Kate Kooiker of Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton HS), placed second at 4:14.22.
Hope returns to action on April 11 at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Adrian.
