The Hope College women's golf team heads into the final round of its first NCAA Division III Championships appearance in position for a top-10 finish.
The Flying Dutch maintained its 10th place spot in the team standings after shooting its best round of the 72-hole tournament during Thursday's third round in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Hope carded a round of 331 at Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort for a 54-hole total of 1,007. The Flying Dutch trail ninth-place Wisconsin Stout in the 21-team tournament by nine strokes.
Hope tees off Friday's final round at 8:35 a.m.
All five Hope golfers completed the third round with four strokes of each other.
Junior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), and freshman Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS), led the Flying Dutch by firing 10-over-par rounds of 82.
Sophomore Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS), chipped in an 83.
Senior Montana Leep of Hastings, Michigan (South Christian HS) shot an 84.
Freshman Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) had an 86.
